the thickness of heat is womb-like at night. we’re remembering. people and situations transporting us to other timelines while we’re still needing to be right here for our right now responsibilities. family is popping up with requests, restrictions, news, or more quality time.
i’ve been revisiting questions of what makes up our personal lore. cancer season reminds us where we come from and that that is always moving and changing. like the shadows of the moon… emptying out what once felt like a dream or something perceived as permanence just to start fresh again.
even if you’re completely different than what your foundation stood on, all of y o u roots back there. the great, bad, ugly. the comfort. to your mother’s story and her mother’s and so forth. the initial nurturing or naturing of your OG caretakers and their shortcomings, sacrifices or feats. so much wisdom for your path forward exists hand in hand with reckoning all that’s happened to you. for you.
the complications that come with nostalgia. longing for past times or a wish to forget them. stirring in our deep wells of emotion peak our summer season. the plants need an ungodly amount of water and we come face to face with the needs of everything around us - including our body. we are tempted to neglect our own bodily needs to meet the never ending tasks and demands of caring for all that we’re watering in our own lives, literal children, or our dreams…
cancer is ruled by the moon. an embodiment of the mother archetype and her many forms. an initiation into what we need and crave. cancer feels everything along the axis of DEEP TIME cancer sheds a ton of tears and seeks to take care.
JULY ASTRO INSIGHTS
1 - 9
we’re coming off a venus and uranus conjunction in taurus on july 4th. 29 degrees in astrology is a critical point. at the final degree we can see points of intense activation or crises in our lives, those around us, or the human family. uranus is all about breaking free, and in taurus, we can assume the themes of crisis have to do with the Earth and resources beneath shaking, moving, and being carved out in different ways. and with venus involved we see women also being a major theme.
immediately after this, we see venus move into gemini that same day of july 4th. and we begin to see the new dimensions of reality upon us. in gemini, themes of classes, communication, or our local community come up. and venus as our planet of attraction. our perspective is elevating and so are gifts that come when we lean into what info is available to us via exploring for the sake of it. you may find some local treasures through this transit or meet someone new and exciting.
upon entering gemini, venus also trines pluto and sextiles neptune and saturn. these are supportive aspects and speak to energy helping us work through deeper terrain. this could also show up as simply daydreaming about where you are and what it’s going to take to get you to where you want to be. i’m seeing people reflect about yourself and personal desires as clouds go by.
uranus will soon ingress into gemini on july 7th for the first time in 84 years. this is a big moment for us.
we can expect extreme and accelerated technological innovations while uranus moves through gemini from 2025-2033. as well as a further splitting, separating, and isolation in ideation. having access to tons of information isn’t really novel anymore - it’s how we synthesize, communicate, and relay it that will be important, special and notable. how can you ride the electric currant or uranus and ditch the old paradigm? how can you make this one work for you instead of feeling shocked to death by the acceleration of what’s available and what’s collapsing around us. staying stuck and resistant might just leave you behind. not semi preparing will too. we, and i especially, really have no idea what to expect with this transit in modern day. that’s uranus’ wisdom for you. tracing these years in history give you other themes we are working through as a collective that will be resurfacing in new ways. 1941-1948 & 1859-1871. hmmm..ready or not.

july 10th is our capricorn full moon. the full moon happens when the sun - currently in cancer - opposes the moon in the sky. the moon glows in fullness reflecting the sun’s light. the moon isn’t the coziest in capricorn so we’re holding tension here. the tension is urging us to make practical steps towards the future and towards our goals. to find the nurturing wisdom of getting on with it, letting go of stagnant emotions so we can step into a new light. we must simultaneously hold the tension of the past, what is currently transpiring, and the life we want to live. we must show up. the life we live and the one we are taking steps towards takes so. much. work. but consistency effort over larger arcs of time harmonizes with the rhythm of the moon. the waves of emotion clears and purifies us regularly to feel safe to feel at all.
july 11th the transiting cancer sun trines the north node - a destiny point in pisces. we may be feeling particularly intuitive and connected to a portal of compassion. compassion for all that is. while we are deeply aware and holding all that needs to be done, we are feeling a stable energy grounding us in our experience as we ride away from the full moon. the sun wants to illuminate the most aligned path forward.
july 13th saturn stations retrograde in aries. turning around and heading back towards pisces. we can look to the moment of a planet stationing retrograde as a glimmer of time where energy is intensified and possibly more noticeable. what area of your life have you been feeling nudged to pave your own way and play by your own rules?
july 15th jupiter squares the north node in pisces. jupiter rules pisces and is currently exalted in cancer. so i’m honestly energized for this moment. we’ll be in eclipse season again soon so i’ll be taking note of what comes up this day.
july 18th mercury goes retrograde! here we go. in the sign of leo we may be reviewing ways we express ourselves, our relationship to the groups we’re apart of, and our unique role within them. what’s going awry or feeling delayed? who is supporting your creative force? mercury rx wisdom: accept that things being redirected, canceled and not on your timeline is actually a good thing.
july 20 mars conjoins the south node. signifying a moment of purging and release. for some it could be aggravating and possibly even violent… but for others it could just read as simple as starting a detox or cleanse. this would be a powerful day to do an intentional/symbolic severing of a habit you wish to release for good. the why may not be clear in this moment.
july 22nd the sun enter leo! time to shine.
23 - 31
july 23rd we’re busy… venus is squaring mars right after squaring the north node / and mars opposes the north node a few days earlier.
i do like venus x mars aspects, personally. it’s when we can feel energy to actually choose or show up for our wants and desires and carve out space for pleasure to take up. with this we’re needing to walk the talk. what seemingly polar energy in your life needs to be harmonized further? venus and mars actually work well together for passion, drive, and attraction.
and the next day on july 24th we have our NEW MOON in LEO, the sun trines saturn and neptune in aries, and it all opposes pluto in aquarius - whew. this new moon will be taking us to the depths of the ways we take center stage and the shadows of authenticity that await for us there. a feeling of powerlessness lurking and eager to be heard.. roar-ed? work with a flame or have a bonfire. or come to my new moon circle… info below.
venus enters cancer on july 30th making our interactions with others a layer cozier and sensitive. when we’re nourished and our nervous systems are more relaxed, there’s an opening to process things safely. we’ll be focusing on nurturing our commitments or just feeling them out entirely.
the fog lifts for just a bit on july 31st! the sun and mercury rx come together offering us a cazimi moment amidst mercury’s retrograde. it’s all happening in leo so it’s shedding divine clarity on what the pivot is of your new moon intentions as we’re building to the first quarter moon…an action point.
